Modeling of the Van Der Waals Forces during the Adhesion of Capsule-Shaped Bacteria to Flat Surfaces

چکیده
A novel model is developed to evaluate the van der Waals (vdW) interactions between a capsule shaped bacterium (P. putida) and flat minerals plates in different approach profiles: Vertically horizontally. comparison of approaches well-developed spherical particle mineral surface (semi-infinite wall spherical) has been made this investigation. The interaction potentials for capsule-shaped are found using Hamaker’s microscopic sphere plate cylinder either vertically or horizontally surface. numerical results show that horizontal orientated was more attractive compared approaching vertically. orientation bacterial as well type topology influence adhesion bacteria Furthermore, density difference among each shape (capsule, cylinder, sphere) require amounts energy adhere hematite quartz surfaces.

van der Waals forces influencing adhesion of cells.
Adhesion molecules, often thought to be acting by a 'lock and key' mechanism, have been thought to control the adhesion of cells. While there is no doubt that a coating of adhesion molecules such as fibronectin on a surface affects cell adhesion, this paper aims to show that such surface contamination is only one factor in the equation. Starting from the baseline idea that van der Waals force i...

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.
van der Waals and hygroscopic forces of adhesion generated by spider capture threads.
Cribellar thread is the most primitive type of sticky prey capture thread found in aerial spider webs. Its outer surface is formed of thousands of fine fibrils that issue from a cribellum spinning field. The fibrils of primitive cribellar thread are cylindrical, whereas those of derived threads have nodes. Cribellar threads snag on insect setae but also adhere to smooth surfaces. A previous stu...

متن کاملThe van der Waals interaction
The interaction between charged particles via the Coulomb interaction is one of the most important features in physics and is familiar to any student of the subject. The way in which electrons and protons bind to form the hydrogen atom is also well known and is a staple of any quantum mechanics course. However, less familiar is the interaction between such bound systems at separation R, which i...
